| PETERSON HOSPICE |
Peterson Hospice understands the end-of-life journey can be difficult for both the patient and for their loved ones. Our mission is to help patients and families enhance the comfort and quality of life as they cope with life-limiting illness. Peterson Hospice is the only community-based, not-for-profit hospice in Kerrville. The difference is seen in our skilled and compassionate professional employees. We hold our staff and volunteers to the highest standards of care while providing the compassion, comfort and dignity each patient deserves. Hospice services and expenses can be reimbursed by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance or on a charitable basis. Peterson Hospice is available to everyone, regardless of their financial status or ability to pay. Patients and families are never billed for services. How we can help:
At Peterson Hospice our priority is our patients, not shareholders. Our focus is on reinvesting in patient care and bereavement support programs like Bridging the Gap for families and Camp Rays of Hope for children. Only one-third of patients in the United States who are eligible for hospice care actually receive the service. Often times, the transition to hospice occurs very late in the progression of the disease, however many patients could benefit from hospice services much earlier. Here are several things to look for when determining whether hospice could be beneficial:
Bridging the Gap is a children's bereavement program for children in grades K-12 who have experienced the death of a significant person in their lives. Sessions are offered in the fall on Tuesday evenings from 7-8 pm. The program provides peer group support and sessions for parents or guardians at the same time. Bridging the Gap is a program of Peterson Hospice. The office is located at 1121 Broadway Kerrville, TX 78028. (830) 258-7799. You can email us at
